Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 July 2026
Ghant is a card game for mobile devices. These Terms are the agreement between you and Asif Baksh ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of Ghant, covering your use of the app and this website. By downloading, opening, or playing Ghant, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who can use Ghant

You must be at least 13 years old to use Ghant. The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you may use Ghant only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms.

At first launch we ask for your birth year to confirm you meet this age requirement. You confirm it yourself, and we do not store your birth year — only that the check passed.

2. Your account

You can play Ghant without an account — in that case everything stays on your device. If you create an account, you agree to give an accurate email address, keep your login secure, and take responsibility for what happens under your account. One account per person. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else is using your account.

3. Your licence to use Ghant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Ghant for your own entertainment. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app or any part of it. All rights we do not expressly grant are reserved.

4. Fair play and acceptable use

Ghant is a competitive game with leaderboards, weekly seasons, and multiplayer tables. To keep it fair, you agree not to:

Match play is server-refereed — moves pass through our servers so we can keep play fair. We may use automated and manual abuse detection, and we may warn, restrict, suspend, reset statistics for, or terminate accounts that break these rules.

5. Content you choose

The display name, avatar, and flag you pick are the content you provide. You keep whatever rights you have in them, and you grant us a licence to store and display them inside the game (for example on leaderboards, at a table, or on the daily challenge board) so the game can work. You are responsible for the content you choose, and we may remove or change any content that violates Section 4.

6. Chips, crowns, and other in-game items

Chips and crowns are play currency with no cash value. They are a licensed feature of the game, not your property, not legal tender, and not redeemable for money or anything of value outside the game. You cannot buy, sell, or transfer them for real money, and you have no ownership interest in them. We may create, adjust, reset, expire, or remove in-game items and balances — for example when seasons reset or to correct errors or abuse.

Ghant currently sells nothing and contains no advertising. If we ever add optional purchases, they will be handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play under their payment and refund rules, and additional terms will apply at that time.

7. Multiplayer, seasons, and availability

Features like matchmaking, friends, invitations, leagues, weekly seasons, and leaderboards depend on our servers and on services we rely on (including our backend provider). We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the game, reset seasons on their normal schedule, and take the service offline for maintenance. We do not guarantee that the game will always be available or error-free.

8. The website

This website describes Ghant and links to our legal documents. Store badges and links may point to third-party services (such as the Apple App Store and Google Play) that have their own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Ghant at any time. To remove your account and the data attached to it, use Profile → Delete account in the app — this is permanent and immediate, as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms or to protect the game and its players. If your account ends, your licence ends, and Sections 6 and 10 through 13 survive.

10. Disclaimers

Ghant is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the game will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that gameplay outcomes, statistics, or currencies will always be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, chips, crowns, progress, or in-game items, arising out of or relating to your use of Ghant — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to Ghant is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim (which, because Ghant is free, is typically US $0) or US $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Asif Baksh (and, once formed, the company that operates Ghant, and their respective successors and assigns) from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs arising out of or related to your misuse of Ghant, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of anyone else's rights. We may take over the defense of any such claim, and you agree to cooperate; you will not settle any claim in a way that affects us without our written consent.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing anything, you agree to first contact us and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally. If that does not resolve it, you and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Texas will have exclusive jurisdiction and venue, and you consent to those courts. Nothing here limits rights you may have under the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, show a notice in the app. Continuing to use Ghant after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
